The Derby Dam is a 25’high by 675’ long masonry and concrete capped timber crib dam, located on the Housatonic River in Shelton Connecticut. Renewable Power Consulting initially provided compliance response for the fifth Part 12D safety inspection. We performed the sixth Part 12D ourselves and also provided a potential failure mode analysis. The inspection services included revised dam stability calculations, slope stability calculations, and revision to the Dam Safety Surveillance Monitoring Plan. Finally, we prepared the owners dam safety monitoring plan.
