Pepperell Penstock Replacement
Renewable Power Consulting was selected to provide a number of services for the Pepperell site redevelopment, including the replacement of the sites historic wood stave penstock. We evaluated penstock replacement alternatives, including the use of wood, fiberglass, and steel penstocks and concrete canal systems. A steel ring girder penstock was chosen for the final design. The new 12' diameter penstock was constructed of spiral wound plate with ring girder supports and custom designed expansion joints. We provided all design and construction monitoring for the new penstock.
